Get ready 2017 is almost here the “new year new me” post on social media are coming and some have already arrived. This is another type way of saying that you have a new year’s resolution. A new year’s resolution is a tradition in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or something slightly nice. People say starting in the new year,” I’m going to quit drinking and smoking”, “I’m going to work harder and eat right” “I’m going to lose weight”.
I’m all for self-improvement and becoming a better person but I think that some people are doing more harm than good by waiting for the new year to make a change for the better. When you know something is wrong or not right why wait to fix it? A lot of times people know they need to make a change for the better but they say to themselves “I’ll do it after the new year I want to party hard and get it out my system”. University of Scranton research suggests that just 8% of people achieve their New Year’s goals. Sometimes when you wait you can make things worse and it becomes harder to fix. Don’t wait till the end of the year to try to see what needs to be fixed. We should be trying to get better every day of the year. Why wait? Instead of new year new you try new day new you, every day is a chance to be better.
